Bayern Munich will be looking to take another step closer to their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title on Saturday when they host an out-of-form Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Bayern needs only two more wins to wrap up the title and they also have a cup final to look forward to after beating Frankfurt in the semi-final on Wednesday 2-1. Hansi Flick’s team has now won all six games since returning to action following the COVID-19 break. Home teams have struggled in empty stadiums, but the unusual situation hasn’t bothered Bayern, who have dominated both of their Bundesliga home games played behind closed doors, scoring a total of 10 goals.

Mönchengladbach was riding high before the coronavirus pandemic, and they still can still finish in the top-four, but Marco Rose’s team has struggled since the restart, winning just twice. They have only one win and two losses in their last four outings. Playing away from home has turned out to be a big problem for them, as they haven’t scored a single goal in their last two road outings.

However, Mönchengladbach can at least draw some confidence from their recent matchups with Bayern. They won the reverse fixture this season 2-1 and have managed a total of three wins in the last five head to head meetings.
