After losing some ground to Juventus in the title race in recent weeks, Inter faces another big test in the 23rd round when they host Milan in the 225th Derby della Madonnina.
Inter returned to winning ways last weekend when they beat Udinese 2-0, but Antonio Conte can’t be happy with his team’s current form. They played out three consecutive draws before a Romelu Lukaku brace ended the downward spiral. Inter have now played out twice as many draws (6) as Juve, which is currently the main difference in the title race, as the Old Lady has lost more games.
Milan have their own problems, as they are seven points off the top-four, but at least the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to have kick-started their season. Rossoneri have picked up 10 points of a possible 12 in the four games that Zlatan has played so far. He missed last week’s 1-1 draw with Verona through illness.
The Milan Derby has been very one-sided in recent years, with Milan last winning in 2016. Inter have managed a seven-game unbeaten run in the matchup, picking up four wins. They have won three straight against their neighbors, including 2-0 this season in the reverse fixture.
